In today's class, we learned how every magazine is created with a specific audience kept in mind. Every image chosen, color, fonts, and headlines are meant to attract a certain type of audience. For this blog post, I will be analyzing the audience profiles of two magazines from the genre I have chosen for my portfolio, Fashion & Style. By examining their demographics and psychographics, I can better understand who the magazines are targeting. I will then create an audience profile for my own magazine where I will present the title of it as well.
Part 1

Demographics
Age: This Vogue cover is mainly targeting young adults and adults, around ages 18-35. Zendaya is a popular public figure admired by younger generations but also gets attention from older individuals for fashion.
Gender: This magazine mostly targeted women since Vogue highlights beauty and femininity. However, men who are interested in fashion are also part of the audience.
Education: The audience is made of college level individuals. Vogue usually includes deep conversations about fashion which appeal to people of higher education.
Socio-Economic Class: This magazine targets A and B class (upper-middle to upper class). In general those who read magazines tend to have plenty of time on their hands compared to the lower classes. The luxury styling and designer dress suggest that the readers either have high income or aspire to that lifestyle.
Ethnicity: Vogue appeals to a diverse audience. Zendaya herself represents diversity and inclusivity.
Psychographics
The audience for this cover values luxury self-expression, and confidence. Readers are interested in high fashion and celebrity culture. They see fashion as a way to express themselves and give power. This audience most likely stays trendy and inspired by influencers.

Demographics
Age: This cover targets an older audience compared to the first one, specifically 25-45 years old. The message and styling feel more mature.
Gender: The primary audience is women because the cover focuses on women's fashion and empowerment. It also appeals to those interested in meaningful stories surrounding fashion.
Education: Readers are likely well educated with college history. British Vogue mixes fashion with real world topics and deeper messages compared to regular Vogue.
Socio-Economic Class: This magazine is aimed at A class (upper-middle to upper class) readers. The designer clothing and serious beige tones suggest a high end audience.
Ethnicity: British Vogue targets a global audience and highlights diversity and representation in fashion.
Psychographics
The audience for this cover values strength, resilience, and representation. Readers admire fashion that tells a story and challenges stereotypes. This audience is socially aware and confident making them drawn to fashion that has a meaning deeper than appearance.
Part 2
For the second part of this blog I will be introducing the audience I expect for my own magazine. I will be outlining the demographics and psychographics of my target audience as I did for the previous two examples. I will also be including images that represent the type of people and style I picture for my magazine, along with the title I have chosen for my cover.

This assignment helped me better understand how magazines carefully target specific audiences through visuals and design choices. By analyzing Vogue covers I learned how fashion communicates their message, Vogues being confidence, luxury, and empowerment. Understanding my audience will help me make better choices when designing my magazine and choosing the photos.
