Creative Critical Reflection
April 10, 2026 Here are four questions answered all differently: How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text? How did your production skills develop throughout this project? Short film made by myself to showcase my editing and filming skills: How did you integrate technologies - software, hardware, and online - in this proj

Final Magazine Reflection
April 10, 2026 Throughout the process of creating my magazine, I learned a lot about design, organization, and how to build a strong overall theme. At the beginning, I didn’t fully know how I wanted everything to look, but as I worked through each part, like the mood board, table of contents, and cover drafts, I started to understand what fit my vision best. I made multiple changes along the way, especially with layout, colors, and fonts, because I wanted everything to feel

Final Magazine
April 9, 2026 This is my final version of Ella Poderosa , where I bring together my cover, table of contents, and double page spread into one complete magazine. Throughout this process, I took inspiration from past students’ magazines and focused on creating something that feels confident, stylish, and meaningful. Each part of the magazine was carefully designed to reflect the message of empowering Hispanic women through style, mindset, and growth. Overall, this final magaz

2nd Draft: Decisions & Revisions
April 7, 2026 For my second draft, I focused on making changes based on the feedback I received from my classmates and my own observations. I looked at what was working well and what needed improvement, especially in areas like layout, color, and readability. This draft is about refining my ideas and making better design choices to improve the overall look of my magazine. Overall, this second draft helped me make important improvements and get closer to my final version. By

Classmate Critiques
April 6, 2026 For this blog post, I shared my magazine with my classmates to get constructive feedback. This helped me understand how others see my work and what changes I should make before my final version. Looking at past students’ magazines also helped me compare my work and see what a more finished product should look like. Negative Feedback: Table of Contents background color doesn't match the cover Too much white space in some areas Font is too small making it hard to

Magazine Cover: Final Draft
April 5, 2026 After speaking with my classmates, I found that they had very similar notes which were: The date is too close to all the words making it seem crowded. The font for "style that speaks before you doesn't look very professional. There is a lot of plain white text. Additionally, we noticed: The "brilliant" didn't connect to my theme. The bubble doesn't fit in with the professional vibe I am going for. Here is my final cover: I am extremely happy with how this magaz

Double Page Spread: First Draft
April 5, 2025 For this blog I will be showing you my first draft of my double page spread. I have been working on this all day and I am aiming for my magazine to be more motivational and comforting to women instead of specific fashion advice. Although, I am showing women in business outfits, the main purpose is to show that when you look good, you feel good, and vice versa. Here are my pages: I really like how my magazine has turned out so far (looks and meaning). This over

Magazine Cover: First Draft
April 4, 2026 For my magazine cover, I decided to keep exactly the masthead I chose in my previous blog. I also used that same font for the "command the room" and the date. Take a look at my draft: I think I love and will keep most things how it is. I will ask my classmates what they think then will revise. If I was critiquing myself, here is what I'd say: The date is too close to all the words making it seem crowded. The font for "style that speaks before you doesn't look ve

Table Of Contents: Final Revision
April 3, 2026 Yesterday, I made a final draft blog post of my table of contents. As I kept looking at it this morning, the more I realized I didn't love it and wasn't satisfied with my product. I found that the background color and the font appeared too thick and childish. I also didn't like how the font size was too big making it too easy to read (if that makes sense). To me, it gave me children's book vibes, so I added some touches. The first picture is the before and the s

Masthead Design
April 3, 2026 As I am starting to create my front cover, I need to make the very important choice of choosing my masthead. I have changed the font from before, but they look extremely similar. The big change is likely the spacing. Here is the final masthead design: Color Choice: My cover image is mainly black with some pink and white flowers, so the white and pink stands out against the black while matching the overall vibe. Kerning: The kerning of the original font is way

Table of Contents: Final Draft
April 2, 2026 For my final draft of the table of contents, I made several changes based on my previous versions to improve the overall look and layout. I wanted it to feel more balanced, clean, and visually appealing while still matching the style of Ella Poderosa . I focused on adjusting the colors, placement, and size of elements to make everything work better together. Overall, the final draft is a big improvement from my earlier versions. I changed the background to a b

Table Of Contents: First Draft
April 1, 2026 For this blog post, I created the first draft of my table of contents (TOC). I decided to make two different options so I could compare layouts, styles, and organization. This helped me see what works better visually and which one fits the overall vibe of my magazine, Ella Poderosa, more clearly. Version 1: For this version, I opted for the title to be on top, and no figures behind it. I do think it looks less overwhelming than version two in that sense, but i

Equipment and Props
March 22, 2026 For my magazine photoshoot, I kept my equipment and props simple but effective. Since my magazine focuses on a clean and stylish aesthetic, I chose items that would match that look without making the images feel too crowded or distracting. For all of my photos, I used an iPhone 13 as my camera. Even though it’s not a professional camera, it still takes very high-quality pictures and was easy to use. It also allowed me to quickly adjust lighting, angles, and fra

Contingency Plans
March 21, 2026 Managing this magazine and blog has been something I’ve really enjoyed, but it hasn’t always been easy to stay consistent. With everything I have going on in my life, there were times where I had to step back and focus on other priorities. Because of that, it was important for me to think about contingency plans, or backup plans, for when I wasn’t able to keep up with posting or working on my magazine. One major situation was during spring break. I went on a lo

Magazine Cover Sketch
March 16, 2026 Now it is starting to get real. We have been doing a lot of research and for the purpose of developing my magazine further, I'll be creating a sketch of how my magazine cover will look like. Though I am not the best at drawing, I'm fairly content with how my sketch turned out. I'm not fully convinced on the colors I used, but I can still take inspiration from it. Here is a picture of my sketch: Masthead: As discussed in previous blog posts, my masthead is "Ell

Permissions
March 14, 2026 For this blog, I am preparing for my final creative critical reflection. Here is my mom approving: Permissions are important when uploading things online, even though it is immediate family. I look forward to creating the podcast.

Mood Board
March 13, 2026 The images I chose show women wearing fall outfits, like coats, neutral colors, and accessories, usually in city or cozy settings. These images represent the idea of Ella Poderosa being about confident and stylish women. The fall vibe also helps show change and growth, which connects to the idea of a woman improving herself and becoming more powerful. The warm lighting and calm settings make the magazine feel relaxed but still high-end. I also included things l

Film Industry Case Study
March 12, 2026 For this assignment, I chose Universal Pictures as the big production company and NEON as the smaller one. Universal is a huge, older studio that makes big movies for everyone, while NEON is newer and focuses more on unique or indie-style films. The four movies I used are: Oppenheimer and Wicked (Universal) Anatomy of a Fall and Longlegs (NEON) These show how both companies work really differently but still succeed. Location and Set
March 10, 2026 In this blog post, I will be showing you pictures of the location of my photoshoot. The photoshoot will be taking place in my backyard, kitchen, and living room. This is where the photoshoot will take place. It matches my color scheme very well. I look forward to inputting the pictures into my magazine. Also, the pictures will be taken during day time to have the best lighting.

Cast & Crew
March 10, 2026 The casting process is very important to my magazine because it directly impacts how people will view my magazine. My models are a reflection of the magazine and my magazine is a reflection of them. Since the start of this process, I have had my cast in mind. I will be the photographer, editor, and writer. My models are my mother and my aunt. They are both Hispanic, entrepreneurs, beautiful, and inspiring. They work so hard they inspired my magazine genre and f
