As I am starting to create my front cover, I need to make the very important choice of choosing my masthead. I have changed the font from before, but they look extremely similar. The big change is likely the spacing. Here is the final masthead design:

Color Choice: My cover image is mainly black with some pink and white flowers, so the white and pink stands out against the black while matching the overall vibe.

Kerning: The kerning of the original font is way less than what I went for in the end. I wanted to increase it to make the top of my cover look fuller.

Font Choice: As I stated, I had chosen Bodoni light because it looked professional, while on canva creating my cover, I encountered this font and I preferred it over Bodoni, it is called Copperplate Gothic.

Overall, I am happy with the final masthead design and the choices I made. Changing the font to Copperplate Gothic made it feel more unique and better fit the style of my magazine. The increased spacing also helped the title stand out more and fill the top of the page in a cleaner way. The color choice of white and pink works well with the black background, making the title easy to read while still matching the overall aesthetic. These decisions helped create a masthead that looks more professional, balanced, and visually strong for my front cover.
